New civil service commission boss assumes duty

The new Chairman of the Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC), Dr. Tukur Bello Ingawa, along with 12 new commissioners has assumed duty in Abuja on Monday.

He took over from Dr. Chimaobi Odunze, the commissioner in charge of Imo and Abia state, who had been acting as chairman of the commission after the expiration of the tenure of Deaconess Ayo Joan.

Dr. Ingawa while addressing the Permanent Secretary and other staff of the commission in his office promised a lasting legacy.

According to him, he would do all he can to make the commission a better place and therefore, called for the cooperation of every one to enable him succeed.

The Deputy Director, Press and Public Relations of the commission, Dr Joel Oruche, said in a statement that the new chairman was accompanied to the office by some retired Permanent Secretaries who were his former colleagues in the service and other well-wishers who came to wish him well as he takes up his new appointment.
