Here are six networking tips that can keep you from early death in retirement:

1. Join retirement groups of like-minded people: look for groups where your contemporaries belong and identify with them. It could be a free consultancy services firm where your experience can remain useful to the younger generation.

2. Develop a networking syste: You are not too old to use the social media. Create groups on social media sites and add your friends. Chat with them as often as possible.

3. Develop a regimen of retirement activities: Go to workshops, volunteer and teach in a school and make new friends.

4. Develop new streams of income: Do something else to argument your pension. The activity could help you make new friends.

5. Do the things you were always too busy to do: Now is the time for you to go to those places you had no time to go to. Keep yourself busy.

6. Read. Find book clubs. Attend reading events in Lagos, Abuja and several cities across Nigeria.
