The Main Organizing Committee, MOC of the National Sports Festival (NSF) has given assurance that the game of Netball will feature among the games that would be played in the next sports festival if it scales the final hurdle.
A member, MOC, Games Service, Mr. Kweku Tandoh disclosed this to newsmen after the demonstration of the sports which he described as a developmental sport.
“Netball was played in schools and all that and after a while it just disappeared but right now the International Olympic Committee, Commonwealth Games and everyone has taken netball as a competitive sport.
“Following this demonstration, a lot more states will show interest in netball. This is a developmental sport and must be given all the necessary encouragement.

“As a member of the Nigeria Olympic committee, technical commission, I was one of those that gave the approval for netball to be accepted as one of our demonstration sports and then the final approval as a full sport would be given by the sports ministry. I think two demonstrations at two sports festivals is the requirement,” he said.
