NEPC trains MSMEs on export

The Nigeria Export Promotion Council (NEPC) has trained Micro, Small and Medium Scale Entrepreneurs (MSMEs) in Kano on how to add value to their products through the appropriate packaging and labelling for easy access to the export market.

The Executive Director NEPC, Barrister Segun Awolowo, said packaging was an essential component of product development in terms of quality/standard and market promotion, adding that, “It is needless to point out that a good quality product without efficient packaging and labelling is as good as a bad product.

“Packaging and labelling is also a key factor that determines the sustainability of products in the foreign market. Internationally, Nigerian products meant for the export market are faced with inadequate packaging and labelling which has caused a lot of product rejection in the global market.”
