The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), in collaboration with Kano State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), has distributed relief materials to 1,289 victims of flood and vulnerable persons in Ajingi and Albasu LGAs of the state.
Speaking while flagging off the distribution of relief materials in Ajingi, the Director General of NEMA, Mustapha Ahmed Habib, said the relief items were to bring succour to the victims.
Represented by the Kano State territorial coordinator of the agency, Dr Nuradeen Abdullahi, the DG said the federal government is committed to assisting people affected by disasters across the country.
Also speaking, the Executive Secretary of SEMA, Dr Saleh Jili, said in Ajingi LGA, 495 victims of flood and 150 vulnerable people benefitted from the gesture.
