The DG, represented by the Assistant Director, Human Resource (Training), Usman Aji, said the lesson was geared towards building the capacity of staff in responding to disasters and emergencies.

In his remarks, Acting Zonal Coordinator, NEMA North East Zone, Chonoko Isah Ishaya said improving staff competency and operational readiness remained the cardinal objectives of the agency and urged the staff to take the training seriously as responses involved situations where staff must determine whether the situation is safe and at the same time identifying and treating the problems of casualties.

A Representative of the Secretry, Nigerian Red Cross Society, Babagana Usman said the training was targeted at updating the staff with skills and techniques of life-saving during emergencies.
