The Centre of Crisis Communication (CCC) yesterday praised government’s decision to negotiate with Boko Haram for the release of the abducted Chibok School girls.
A statement by Executive Secretary of the Centre, retired Air Commodore Yusuf Anas said the announcement by President Muhammadu Buhari on the negotiation corroborated with the Centre’s position on the willingness of some Boko Haram elements to stop fighting.
He recalled that at a press conference in August, the Centre disclosed that some Boko Haram elements approached the Centre for dialogue as a way of ending insurgency in some parts of the country.
Anas stated that the Centre believes that there was nothing wrong in exploring and exploiting every opportunity that will lead to freeing not only the school girls but every other Nigerian under the shackles of the deadly insurgents.
