The International Alert-Nigeria has said that some certain negative narratives were driving the perennial violence in the North West part of the country.
Country Director, International Alert Nigeria, Paul Nyulaku Bemshima, said this yesterday in Abuja while speaking on the just concluded one-day workshop on a reflection session to validate preliminary findings from Strategic Communications (STRATCOM) Assessment in North West Nigeria with support from the UK International Development through the Conflict Stability and Security Fund (CSSF).
He said that to curb these, lessons, insights and messages shared from the workshop that fuel radicalisation and alternative narratives and communication tools may be used to address insecurity in the North West.
He also said that the key findings from their recent STRATCOM assessment conducted in Kaduna and Zamfara states will be analysed for necessary actions.
