Learn Africa has awarded the academic excellence of the top three 2023 National Examination Council (NECO) candidates results.

The three students’ results were selected as the best after the end of the June/July Senior Secondary Examinations held last year.

Appreciating the students’ outstanding results, the Chairman, Learn Africa Plc Emeke Iwerebon stressed that the students have displayed the fruit of being diligent despite the barrage of distraction from peer group and social media.

“To our exceptional students, your achievements are not just personal victories but a testament to the collective efforts of your families, teachers, and schools.

“It is often said that it takes a village to raise a child, and it is their unwavering support and guidance that have helped you reach this pinnacle of success. We salute their dedication and commitment to nurturing your talents and helping you realise your potential,” he said.

He urged the students to keep striving for excellence, stay curious, and never stop learning, saying the future holds opportunities for them to maximise.

The student who emerged with first position was Okafor Chima of St. Paul’s Academy in Plateau while Benson Chelsea of Renaissance Garden Secondary School in Lagos took the second position.

The third was Taleatu Oluwatimilehin of Oritamefa Baptist Model School in Ibadan, Oyo State.

They all received cash gifts of N1m, N750,000 and N500,000 in accordance with their positions.

Okafor Chima who emerged as the best candidate after he scored nine A1 in all his science class subjects alluded his academic feat to dedication to effective reading period.

“I have been preparing for many exams before NECO. I read when I am efficient. I don’t just read. Some people can read for 8 hours but they will not assimilate anything while some people can read for two hours and cover a wide range,” he said.
