NDPHC completes 330kV Lafia transmission station

The Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC) Ltd said it has completed the construction of the 330/132/33 kilovolts (kV) transmission station in Lafia, Nasarawa State.

In a statement by the Head, Communication & Public Relations, Olufunke Nwankwo, the Executive Director, Networks at NDPHC, Engr. IfeOluwa Oyedele, who inspected the project, said all pre-commissioning tests have been fully carried out.

“The substation is now being connected to the national grid through the line-in, line-out which is in progress.”

He explained that the original completion date was delayed as a result of the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“By September, the company would be ready to hook up the substation to the national grid and the inauguration will take place as soon as the president approves a date.”

Oyedele also said the project would facilitate rapid growth in socio-economic activities in the state and this will attract investors to create jobs that would eventually change the standard of living of residents of the state and boost the economy.

The NDPHC official also visited the Governor of Nasarawa State, Engr. Abdullahi Sule, along with the technical team of NDPHC comprising Engr. Yusuf Yari, Head, Transmission; Engr. Stephen Olumuyiwa, Technical Assistant to the MD/CEO on Transmission and the Communication & PR team.
