The Adamawa State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has intercepted 626 compressed blocks of cannabis sativa, weighing 500.800kg, around Numan Bridge.
The state commandant, Agboalu Femi Samson said the feat was achieved through collaboration between NDLEA officers and the military at the checkpoint.
He disclosed that the suspects were already on the watch list of the agency.
According to him, two tinted vehicles, an SUV and Hilux with fake presidency number plates, were used to transport the drugs from Alagbaka in Akure, Ondo State, to Mubi in Adamawa State.

He said the NDLEA has a permanent checkpoint in place to cut off drug supply into the state, with two teams operating 24/7.
Adamawa State governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, visited the scene to assess the intercepted substance and assured continued support for the NDLEA’s fight against drug abuse and trafficking.
He congratulated the NDLEA officers and men for their efforts and advised drug users to desist from the habit to actualize their potentials.
