A deaf and dumb suspect dealing in illicit substances has been arrested in the Samaru area of Zaria, Kaduna State, by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
Mr Femi Babafemi, the spokesman of the agency, who disclosed this on Sunday in a statement, said 150g of hemp were recovered from him.
The statement further reads, “Another suspect, Ibrahim Sani (56), was also arrested in possession of 51kg of the same substance in the Tirkaniya area of the state.”
He also said operatives intercepted large consignments of Ghanaian Loud, a strong strain of hemp from Ghana, in three vehicles conveying jumbo bags of the psychoactive substance in the Ojuelegba area of Lagos in the early hours of January 28, 2024.
He explained that in the process of blocking the vehicles, two of the drivers jumped off while the third driver, 66-year-old Nasiru Ojomu, who works with “wanted” Akala – a Mushin-based drug baron, Suleiman Jimoh, alias Olowo Idi Ogede, also known as Temo, was arrested.
