The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) says it has arrested 92 suspected drug traffickers and confiscated 987.024 kilogrammes of drugs in Kano last month.
NDLEA Commander in the state, Dr Ibrahim Abdul, said the suspects were apprehended across Kano metropolis.
He said intensive operations by NDLEA officials aimed at reducing drug trafficking and abuse in the state was yielding the desired result.
“Nine convictions were secured from a federal high court just as 101 drug users were referred for brief intervention (counseling), four regular clients admitted and two were discharged after undergoing counseling,” he said.
A breakdown of the seized items showed that 895.676 kg is cannabis sativa; psychotropic substance, 91.336 kg and heroine, 0.002 kg.
