The Commander of the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Bauchi State, Ali Manu, has disclosed that the command through constant intelligence has raided black spots and arrested 162 suspects in the last five months.
He said during the raids from August 2022 to date, the command identified drug dealers and seized 673.499kg of different classes of drugs.
The commander disclosed this during the inauguration of the Bauchi State task force to work out modalities for curtailing and tackling the sale and consumption of illicit drugs across the state.
Manu, who is the chairman of the task force, said NDLEA as a leading agency in the war against drug abuse and trafficking, cannot win the war alone, hence the need for the support of all stakeholders particularly, government, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), religious bodies and sister security agencies.
