The National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested 148 suspects and made a seizure of over 3,999.073kg of drugs in 2020.
The acting commander of the agency in Kaduna State, Uche Iyke, disclosed this when he paraded three suspects on Monday.

A drug baron, Usman Jameel, who distributes banned and controlled drugs in the state was among those arrested.
Iyke said Jameel was arrested in possession of 78kg of Diazepam (6 cartons); 8.5kg of cough syrup with codeine (7 cartons) and 1.5kg of tramadol, and other unconventional substances of abuse.
According to the acting commander, 12 convictions were achieved by the command within 2020.
He said 48 of the suspects were arrested within the last quarter of the year with a total seizure of 354kg of various types of drugs and three convictions achieved.
He said the drugs were billed for Zaria, Kaduna and other areas.
He commended the Kaduna State government for assisting the command with vehicles to carry out its operations and other security agencies for their support to the agency in the fight against drugs in the state.
