The National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Kano State has arrested 129 suspects and recovered 709.979kg of assorted illicit substances in the month of October.
Public Relations Officer of the agency, ASN Sadiq Muhammad Maigatari disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday.
He said conviction had been secured for some of the suspects, while others were referred to the counseling unit for rehabilitation.
Maigatari stated that the recovered substances include a substantial haul of 309.991 kilograms of cannabis sativa; 394.835 kilograms of various psychotropic substances comprising 741,600 tablets of tramadol; alongside 2.789 kilograms of pregabalin and 0.027 kilograms of methamphetamine, among others.

He added that the agency has successfully secured 22 convictions in October by the Federal High Court sitting in Kano, and have received various jail sentences from 5 to 9 years in prison.
