NDE trains graduates on solar energy

The Kaduna State coordinator of NDE, Isa Jibril Tandama, who made this known, said that the 20 trainees were picked from the 36 states including Abuja, adding that a total of 740 graduates will undergo the three months training in order to add value to the source of energy in the country.
He said: “God has given us abundant sunshine in the country and we are trying to explore that and see how it can be put into effect. The directorate is dynamic and we discovered that one of the ways to create employment is through solar energy, very soon, we shall go into wind energy.”
At the end of the training, Isa mentioned that successful trainees will get incentive to start their own businesses.
“From the erratic power supply, if we can have steady power supply through solar, the rural areas and business owners will benefit a lot and we also believe that the trainees after acquiring the skills will be able to earn a living from installation and maintenance of solar energy systems while they will also employ other people to work with them,” he noted.
