The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) in Benue State has commenced the training of 70 young unemployed graduates in Own-Your-Business scheme.
Daily Trust reports that the young participants were drawn from across the 23 local government areas of the state and are expected to undergo the training for one week.
The State Co-ordinator of NDE, Apochi Ubah Mathew, said that the training tagged ‘Start Your Own Business (SYOB)’ is one amongst the numerous scheme of the Directorate under the Small Scale Enterprises (SSE) aimed to fight unemployment bedevilling graduates of tertiary institutions in the country.
Mathew explained that a total of 840 persons were currently undergoing the SYOB training in 12 states of the federation at 70 per state on how to convert themselves into full fledged potential entrepreneurs and wealth creators.

“The directorate wish to accord those of you specially selected, the opportunity to undergo this training exercise for a period of one week to acquaint you with modern rudiments of how to write feasibility studies, how to get fund, how to establish, grow and run your businesses successfully,” he said.
On her part, the HOD of SSE in Benue, Dr Abeje Mfam, urged the participants to take advantage of the opportunity coming to them on a platter of gold and acquire their dream skills.
