The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) has trained 60 youths and women on Basic Business training on Digital Entrepreneurship to make them self-reliant in Bauchi State.
The Director General of NDE, Dr Nasiru Muhammed Ladan Argungu, who flagged off the two day training Scheme in Bauchi, said the programme was to provide more profitable strategies to enhance their skills and quality of life to become employers of labour.
Represented by the Bauchi State Coordinator of NDE, Alhaji Ali Lawan Yaya, the DG said the scheme is part of Constituency Projects of Hon Yakubu Shehu Abdullahi, representing Bauchi Federal constituency.
He said the objective is to train unemployed youths and using modern technology to become self-reliant and to contribute their quota to national development.
He emphasised that youths especially young graduates should not continue to wait for white collar job but to embrace skills acquisition to become self-reliant.
“The training will sharpen previously acquired skills of the participants in their chosen vocations using modern methods of service delivery available in industries and corporate outfits.
“The trainees, apart from the capacity building workshop, will access funds from NIRSAL, Bank of Agriculture and Bank of Industry,” Argungu noted.
He charged the participants to utilize the opportunity of training to lay the foundation of becoming established entrepreneurs.
“This training will enhance your marketability and open doors for increased employment opportunities for various skills learned,” he said.
