The Plateau State chapter of the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) has commenced training of 50 unemployed graduates on Start Your Own Business (SYOB) to enable them to be self-reliant.
The Plateau State Coordinator of the scheme, Malam Ibrahim Ardo Abdulazeez, said the exercise was not just to train the graduates alone but to transform them and ensure a better life in their future.

The coordinator told the participants that it was an opportunity for them to have been selected to participate in the training as thousands of graduates were looking for such an opportunity but couldn’t get it, advising them to be attentive as white-collar jobs were no longer attainable.
In his remarks, the NDE National Coordinator, Malam Abubakar Fiko, represented by Mrs Maureen Obianuja, called the participants to learn the training to improve their businesses, adding that the knowledge to be acquired could be applied in various businesses.
One of the participants at the event, Christy Michael Magnut, thanked the FG for organising programme, saying it was an opportunity for them to be part of the training.
Miss Michael said, “We are grateful and we pray will not be the last set to benefit from the programme.”
