The National Directorate for Employment (NDE) has organised internship training for 50 graduates of its various programmes in Sokoto State.

While flagging off the Artisan in Collaborative Construction Employment Scheme (ACCESS) on Friday, the director-general of the agency, Malam Nuhi Fikpo, explained that the programme was designed to create more reliable and dependable sources of the workforce.

He added that it was meant to provide an avenue for improving and upgrading the skills of the artisans.

Represented by the state coordinator of NDE, Mrs Eunice Danmallam, the DG said the beneficiaries would be posted to organisations for a period of three months internship, where they would be exposed to on-the-job practical training in various skills under the construction sector.

According to him, each of them would receive a monthly stipend of N5,000.
