The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) will train 460 employed youths from Kaduna under the National Basic Open Apprenticeship Scheme (BNOAS) programme across the 23 local government areas of the state.
The beneficiaries, 20 from each local government, will be trained on different vocational skills for three-month.
The State Coordinator of NDE, Sani Maiwada, who stated this at the flag-off and orientation ceremony said they would be trained in fashion designing, catering, tailoring, phone repairers and other skills at the NDE centres in three zones of the state.
He said others would be attached to informal sectors for the training adding that the beneficiaries would be given stipends as transportation allowances during the training.
In his remarks, Chief Vocational Development Officer of the NDE, Malam Shitu Abubakar, who represented the Acting Director General, Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo asked the participants to take their training seriously.
