NDE trains 3,154 in Borno to tackle unemployment

The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) has commenced the training of 3,154 graduates in Borno State as part of efforts to address unemployment and curb violent crimes.

Speaking to journalists, the NDE State Coordinator, Mohammed Gaji Galadima, stated that the beneficiaries would receive training in over 30 different skills aimed at promoting self-reliance.

Representing the Director General of NDE, Galadima explained that the training covers vocational skills, agriculture, and entrepreneurship, with participants set to receive start-up capital and equipment.

Galadima expressed optimism that the programme would significantly alleviate the challenges faced by unskilled and unemployed individuals, particularly those affected by recent flood disasters that devastated farmlands and businesses in the state.

He added that some participants would also be linked to credit-granting institutions to access loans for launching small and medium-scale businesses, further boosting economic opportunities in the region.
