The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) has disbursed N10 million loans to1000 beneficiaries in Jos North and Bassa Local Government Areas of Plateau State.
During the disbursement of the loan at the Jos North LGA secretariat, the Director General of NDE, Dr. Nasir Muhammad Argungu, represented by the State Coordinator, Ibrahim Abdullaze’ez, said the loan was part of the Micro-Enterprise Enhancement Scheme (MEES).

It was designed to drive job creation programmes that would promote attitudinal change, employment generation, poverty reduction, and wealth creation.
Ladan said the programme aimed to assist the unemployed to establish their own mini/micro businesses thereby empowering themselves and improving their standard of living.
He further called on the beneficiaries to invest wisely so as to achieve the desired goal of the programme and become self-reliant in the future.
A member representing the constituency at the National Assembly, Hon. Haruna Maitala, said the gesture was part of his commitment to ensuring sustainable empowerment to the people of his constituency.
