The party said that the list made available to the Senate last week has nothing to do with improving the lot of the oil producing communities, but a smokescreen to direct the budget of the NDDC in the next two years, into the coffers of the PDP for the prosecution of the 2011 general elections.

National Publicity secretary of the party, Emma Eneukwu, said yesterday in Abuja, that Nigerians must reject the composition and that the senate should reject the nominees as they are incompetent.

“For months, the nation waited for President Umaru Musa Yar’adua to constitute the board of the NDDC because of that area which have bedevilled the entire nation for long.”

“The so called list which has become a source of controversies and mass protests in the Niger Delta now, contained the names of such retired military despots as Larry Koinyan, Tunde Ogbeha, Rabiu Kwakwanso and Asheikh Jarma,” Eneukwu said.
