The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) has alerted some communities in Kaduna and Plateau states not to panic over the movement of troops, military equipment and firing of small arms between January 8 and 29.
The academy’s spokesman, Major Bashir Jajira, in a statement Friday in Kaduna, said the activities were part of the final outdoor field training exercise for army cadets of Short Service Course 47, nicknamed “Exercise Camp Highland”, in Plateau and Kaduna states.
“Communities living around Heipang and Shere Hills, Jos in Plateau State, would observe mass movement of military personnel, vehicles and equipment in the general area from 8th to 15th January, 2022.
“Similarly, residents of Katul crossing to Fan Kamanta axis in Zangon Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State will observe the same tactical drills involving firing/simulation of small arms and artillery fire from 15th to 19th January, 2022,” the statement reads in part.
He, therefore, advised residents in the general areas mentioned above not to panic but to go about their normal activities without fear.
