President, National Council of Women’s Societies, Alamo Adam Lau, has urged the Federal Government and the Academic Staff Union of Universities to resolved their dispute and end the ongoing ASUU strike.

She spoke in Abuja yesterday at an event in commemoration of this year’s International Day of the African Child.

She said the students’ continuous “stay at home is very worrisome to us mothers. It makes them idle, redundant and therefore vulnerable to all forms of violence and negative tendencies.

“We’re calling on Federal Government and ASSU to please end the strike and reopen our universities so that our children will be fully engaged.

“Incessant crises in our educational institutions pose a big threat to national security”.
