NCSDC arrest 4 suspects for allegedly raping, killing woman

The Kwara command of the Nigeria Security Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has arrested four people in Esie and Ijan towns of Irepodun local government area of the state for allegedly raping and killing a middle-aged women.

The body of the assaulted woman was discovered in the bush by a search team of NSCDC, vigilante and polcie.

The names of the suspects, according to the State Public Relations Officer of NSCDC, Babawale Zaid Afolabi who confirmed the incident were given as Adams Sodiq, 19; Rasaq Rasheed, 16; Lukman Quadri, 15; Billiaminu Qayum, 16.

The case was reported to the command by the secretary of Fulani and Bororo in Esie/Ijan, Alhaji Musa Waziri of a missing woman named Aishat Sanni.

According to him, ”After our findings, we later discovered her body on the 03/04/2021 in the bush around 08:30am half-naked with cuts all over her body.

“Three out of the suspects namely Rasaq Rasheed, Lukman Quadri and Biliaminu Qayum confirmed in the statements that the prime suspect, Sodiq Adams arrested a Bororo woman for allegedly stealing cashew nuts but later escaped.

“Our investigation revealed that Sodiq Adam convinced the other three suspects to chase the second Bororo woman who ran away so that he can have carnal knowledge of the deceased.

“In the process of trying to rape the deceased, he was bitten in the left arm and bruises on his neck inflicted by the late Aishat,” he said.

He added that Investigation further revealed that the other three victims confirmed that the deceased attacked by Adams adding that the case had been transferred to the Police who are in charge of homicide cases.
