The Federal College of Education (Technical), Akoka in Lagos state has matriculated 794 students to run Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) programmes for the 2018/2019 academic session.

The students were admitted into different schools and departments including school of science education, school of education, school of technical education, school of vocational education and school of business education.

After taking the matriculation oath, the acting provost of the College, Mr. Ephraim O. Dada advised the new intake to attend lectures regularly and reciprocate the good gesture of the College by working diligently to contribute their quota to the development of Nigeria.

He also implored them to engage themselves in sporting activities either for leisure or good mental health development.

While he admonished them to join clubs and groups registered with the Students’ Affairs Unit, he warned them against secret societies and cultism.

“As students, you are expected to exhibit disciplined, loyal and honest character at all times during your stay in the college. Energy wasted in pursuit of unlawful gains or destructive union activities is tantamount to misplaced priorities and contribute to lowering of standards of education,” Dada said.

He urged the students to refrain from unsavoury acts such as examination malpractice, certificate forgery, illicit drug dealing, fighting, theft and rape, among others.

Earlier, the president of Students’ Union Government (SUG) of the college, Comrade Olajide Abdul-Hameed charged the new students to never allow anyone take advantage of them, particularly the female students. He advised them to take their academics seriously.
