NCC gets ITF’s Best Public Organization Award

The Industrial Training Fund (ITF) has named the Nigeria Communications Commission (NCC) as the best public organization  in human capital development. Presenting the award, the Director General of the agency, Mr. Joseph Ntung Ari said  the NCC emerged  the best  public organization in human capital development in 2017 aft er going through series of parameters which includes: prompt  training of staff from the junior to the highest cadre in line with the ITF guidelines. He commended the  NCC for its unparalleled commitment and dedication in human capital development.

Mr. Nri, who was represented at the occasion by the Abuja head of the agency and a director, malam Usman Mohammed also praised the commission for its prompt response to all the procedures and regular training of its staff for optimal productivity. ‘‘Th is award is in recognition of NCC’s contribution towards human capital development within the FCT in 2017.  The ITF is the one that approves training programmes, monitor their implementation and also process claims emanating from such programmes. ‘‘In view of that, taking into cognizance the parameters to arrive at the best agency reputable for this kind of award, that is how we came about NCC. ‘‘The parameters are training and capacity building ranging from junior category up to the to the EVC’’, he said. Receiving the award , the Executive Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Prof. Umar Danbatta, said  the Commission values human capital development so much that it engages its staff in different category of trainings locally and internationally to make them become globally competitive.

Prof. Danbatta, who was represented by the NCC’s Director of Human Capital and Infrastructure Group, Hajia Maryam Bayi, said the award was very important and meant a lot to NCC and would boost the morale of the Commission to take staff training to next level. He said one of the 8-Point Agenda of the present administration is to ensure regulatory excellence and operational efficiency, adding that this this cannot be achieved without adequate building  the capacity of the individuals that drive the Commission.
