NCC, Abia Govt team up against piracy

The Nigeria Copyright Commission (NCC) has been charged to engage key players in the federation in the fight against piracy, in order to ensure positive impact on the creativity industry and enhance economy of the country.

Deputy Governor of Abia State, Sir Ude Oko Chukwu, made the call when he received a delegation of the commission on a courtesy visit to the Government House, Umuahia.

He condemned the effect of piracy on the nation’s economy due to pirated copies that are never accounted for, which in turn rob artists of their creativity and royalties.
