In a bid to enhance effective learning, the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) has granted full accreditation for 11 Higher National Diploma (HND) and nine Nation Diploma (ND) programmes for five years to Isa Mustapha Agwai Polytechnic (IMAP) Lafia, in Nasarawa state.
However, the accreditation visitation team had in December 2021 conducted the exercise in the institution between 6th-10th.
In a statement obtained by Daily Trust in Lafia, at the weekend, the Rector of the institution, Dr. Justina Anjiode Kotso, revealed that 20 numbers of programmes were submitted for accreditation out of which 11 programmes were granted full accreditation for five years with effect from the 2021/2022 session.
According to her, the board had granted full accreditation for five years to the Polytechnic with effect from the 2021/2022 academic session.
The programmes given full accreditation are HND Business administration and management, HND Public administration, HND accountancy, HND Leisure and tourism management, HND science laboratory technology, HND hospitality management and HND Urban and regional planning.
Others were ND social development, ND statistics, ND library and information science and ND mass communication.
She also noted that accreditation for four programmes have been withheld, pending curative measures on certain equipment needs identified by the NBTE, saying that the board will be invited for verification as soon as the remedial measures are put in place.
