The National Board for Arabic and Islamic Studies (NBAIS) will on Monday, hold a workshop in Kaduna State as part of efforts to integrate the Tsangaya System into the modern education system.
Acting Registrar of the board, Professor Muhammad Shafi’u Abdullahi said the workshop will bring together Islamic scholars and tutors towards seeking their understanding on the importance of the integration agenda.

He said this would assist them in acquiring modern education and skills to make them sustainable and more beneficial to the society.
“First in the series of the activities was the Kano workshop which attracted scholars and alarammas from Kano, Kebbi, Sokoto, Katsina and Zamfara states.
“The five days workshop with the theme, “The Role of NBAIS in the Integration Process”, gave the tutors the opportunity to voice their expectations and challenges as they begin a new modernized system of Islamic and qur’anic education where the representative of the government of Kano threw its weight behind the board’s efforts in trying to integrate the Tsangaya system to align with the modern education and pledged support at all times.” he said.
