Onyenaeze, who handed over the suspects to the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence and Corps (NSCDC), said the navy also impounded the wooden boat used to transport the PMS.
He explained that, “They were intercepted by our personnel in FOB Ibaka during our routine patrol of the waterways in line with the mandate of the Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) to curtail illegal activities and criminal activities on the waterways.”
An NSCDC Superintendent, Candidi Odo, who received the suspects and exhibits, said, “We express our gratitude to the navy for the cooperation that has existed between it and NSCDC.
“We promise that we will never fail in carrying out further investigations and prosecution of suspects.” (NAN)
