The immediate past Commander of the naval ship, NNS BEECROFT, Rear Admiral Abdulrasheed Haruna, has said that his men intercepted about N1 billion worth of weed suspected to be Indian hemp from smugglers on the Western waters.

Aside from the drugs, he said bags of rice and petrol were intercepted and the several wooden boats used for transporting them impounded.

Admiral Haruna made the disclosure in Lagos at a farewell parade organised in his honour to mark the end of his tenure as the 55th commander of the premier NNS BEECROFT.
