The exercise scheduled to commence on Monday at the 72 Special Forces Battalion, Nigeria Army Range Markurdi is designed to prepare navy officers and rating for counter insurgency operations in the north east.
Chief of Naval Training and Operations, Rear Admiral Austin Oyagha told pressmen in Abuja that the exercise will prepare the personnel to achieve success without disproportionate use of force.
Admiral Oyagha noted that the exercise will enable the navy prepare its personnel to meet the deployment dictates in Nigeria’s dynamic security environment.
He said the exercise will involve the use of General Purpose Machine Gun, Self loading Rifles/AK 47 Submachine gun and pistols.
