Navy destroys 15,000 litres of crude in Ondo

The Nigerian Navy (NN) said it has destroyed over 15,000 litres of illegal crude oil worth about N13 million along the shores of Ojumole and Obe creeks in Ilaje LGA of Ondo State.

The Commanding Officer of the Navy Forward Operating Base in Igbokoda, Wasuku Alushi, who disclosed this to journalists in Akure, said his men tracked the boat referred to as a “Cotonou Boat” laden with the illegal crude.

Represented by the Executive Officer of the Base, Humphrey Nnaji, Alushi explained that his men were advancing to sustain the fight against illegal bunkering in the creeks when the oil thieves abandoned the boat and ran for cover.
