Some gunmen have reportedly abducted eight persons including a Naval rating at Ibaka in Mbo Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.
It was gathered that the victims were kidnapped on Monday night at Classic Point Hotel, Ibaka by gunmen who whisked them away to an unknown destination.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Akwa Ibom State Command, ASP Timfon John, confirmed the incident on Tuesday in Uyo.
“When the police got the information, Commissioner of Police, Waheed Ayilara, led a team of security personnel to the community.

“I can assure you that with that visit by the CP and other strategic approaches normalcy will return,” she said.
Meanwhile, the leadership of the Navy in Akwa Ibom are yet to speak on the abduction which occurred a few days after a bus driver and 18 passengers were kidnapped on their way to Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
The whereabouts of the victims are yet to be known.
