Native doctors under the aegis of National Association of Nigerian Traditional Medicine Practitioners (NANTMP) has asked the Ebonyi state governor, Engr. David Umahi, to inaugurate her board as required by law.
The group also urged the governor to give her the privilege to nominate those capable to hold the various positions of the board.
Their plea came during their solidarity rally in Abakaliki where they unanimously endorsed Engr. Umahi for a second term in office come 2019 elections.
Dr. Augustine Okohu, who spoke on behalf of his colleagues at the Government House in Abakaliki, said the state governor has touched virtually every sector in the state.
“We are greatly concerned about your second tenure agenda because of your several achievements in different sectors of Ebonyi state.
“For appointment of members of the board which is aimed at regulating the activities of practitioners in the state, we beg that you should give us the chance to nominate for you those who are capable of doing the job”, he said.
Receiving the group on behalf of the Governor, the Chief of Staff, Government House, Chief Offor Okorie, commended them for a peaceful rally as well as their support for the re-election bid of Governor Umahi.
Offor assured them that their message would get to the Governor as soon as possible.
