National Diaspora Day: Abia Speaker assures of passage of Abians in Diaspora Commission Bill

Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji, has felicitated with Abians in the Diaspora, assuring them of quick passage of Abians in Diaspora Commission Bill 2020.

He said the bill “seeks to harness the potentials of Abia State citizens in the Diaspora and create an enabling environment for them to seamlessly and fully participate in the sociopolitical and economic development of the State”.

The Speaker who made this known in a statement made available to newsmen in Umuahia on Saturday further said that the contributions of Nigerians in the Diaspora to the nation’s development cannot be overemphasized, saying that the Federal Government has done well to recognise and set a day aside to celebrate them.

The Federal Government has set aside July 25 of every year as national diaspora day in recognition of the contributions of Nigerians in diaspora towards national development.
