National confab list discriminatory —Tiv elders

Shuluwa, in a chat with our correspondent in Markurdi, said the President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration has never hidden its dislike for Tiv people, who are majority in Benue State.
He wondered why the names of an elder statesmen such as former minister of steel, Paul Unongo, former military administrator, Atom Kpera and Tor-Tiv, Alfred Torkula IV, are missing from the list, when according to him, those of their contemporaries from other states featured prominently.
“The Tiv people do not have any representation of elder statesmen on the delegates list. There is no contemporary of people such as Tunji Brathraite, no retired senior military officers either.  What will they be discussing at the conference with the absence of the fifth largest tribe in Nigeria,” he said.
Shuluwa maintained that Tiv people deserve at least 10 representation at the conference, considering their over five million population in the country.
