Natasha Akpoti-Uduagan, the Senator representing Kogi Central, says she does not expect her victory at the Court of Appeal.
The Court of Appeal in Abuja on Tuesday declared Akpoti-Uduagan of the Peoples Democratic Party as the duly elected senator in the senatorial election held in February 2023.
The state’s Election Petitions Tribunal in September had invalidated the victory of Abubakar Ohere of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and declared Natasha.

“Up until I was declared the winner I was not absolutely sure that I was going to because this is Nigeria anything can happen. I wish you did not play the governor’s message.
“He said this is the beauty of politics. This is not politics. You don’t endanger people and set out to kill people; you destroy properties; you don’t frustrate the electoral process, just because you want your candidate to win and call it the beauty of democracy,” she said during an interview on Channels TV’s Politics Today.
The senator said that she would prove to Nigerians that women folk are intelligent.
“Our people want good representation and they voted for it. I am out to prove to Nigerians that women folk are intelligent,” she added.
