The Executive Vice Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the agency, Mr Khalil Suleiman Halilu, stated this during a press briefing at the agency’s headquarters in Abuja to mark his one year in office.
He said the products were produced within his one year in office as EVC/CEO of the agency.

Mr Halilu stated that his tenure had been defined by the pursuit of the “Accelerated Technology Transfer and Adaptation Strategy,” an initiative aimed at fast-tracking technological advancements in Nigeria.
“By focusing on homegrown innovations, NASENI is not only contributing to job creation but also bolstering the growth of Nigeria’s economy,” he said.
He emphasised NASENI’s central role in supporting the Nigerian government’s diversification agenda and positioning the country as a competitive player in the global technology and manufacturing landscape.
To ensure the commercialization of NASENI’s innovative products, the EVC announced plans to eliminate the stagnation of prototypes, strengthen partnerships and establish NASENI showrooms in major cities.
The agency, he added, is already collaborating with public and private sector partners to scale up the production of key products.
In an interview, NASENI’s Director of Technology and Business Development, Engr. Bernard Ozigi, said one of the standout innovations is NASENI’s solar-powered irrigation system, which promises to revolutionise farming by enabling year-round irrigation at no cost to farmers.
“The product has been earmarked for mass production and nationwide distribution,” he said.
NASENI’s focus on innovation extends to the education sector. The agency is actively involved in shaping entrepreneurship curricula at six Nigerian universities designated as Centres of Excellence. This initiative aims to equip students with practical skills in technology and entrepreneurship, further contributing to national development.
The director expressed confidence in NASENI’s trajectory, revealing plans to secure international collaborations that will attract significant investment to Nigeria’s technology sector.
