The management of National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) has described as spurious and unfounded, the allegation against the agency’s Director General, Prof Mohammed Sani Haruna.
The agency, in a statement yesterday by its spokesman, Segun Ayeoyenikan, said those who wrote the corruption allegation petition were carrying out a ‘’hatchet job to tarnish the image of Professor Haruna and destroy NASENI.
The statement said: “Let it be clear that the EVC/CE of NASENI has no case with EFCC or any anti-graft agency.
“The management of NASENI has described the so-called informant-corruption group, COPEON, as a faceless group without any known programmes or activities in Nigeria.
“The agency is urging the Nigerian public to dismiss the group as mere hatchet group whose only goal is to be used as platform to carry out campaign of calumny, other dirty jobs, malicious rumours and a move calculated to run-down the good work of NASENI’s CEO who is currently working hard to develop and promote the nation’s Science, Innovation and Technology system.’’
