Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State and Senator Abdullahi Adamu have called on the Minister for Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, to expedite action on federal roads being constructed in the state.

They made the call when they visited the minister at his office, noting that the state was the gateway to other states in the country.

Governor Sule lamented the continuous loss of lives on the highway, especially between Akwanga and Nasarawa Eggon which he said was unfortunate and very worrisome.

He called on the minister to persuade the federal government to speed up work on the Mpape-Panda express road so that the heavy traffic on the Keffi-Abuja road can be reduced.

On his part, Senator Adamu said he was on the entourage to support the effort of the state governor. “We appreciate what the present administration is doing in the provision of infrastructure in Nasarawa State and the completion of the road project will be thankful.”

The senator said people from about 15 states travelled to Abuja via Nasarawa State which causes traffic holdup and that completion of the Mpape-Panda road would ease the situation.

In his remarks, Mr. Fashola regretted the loss of lives on the road and pledged to ensure that work on the roads was completed as soon as possible.
