Nasarawa state House of Assembly has passed a bill seeking the regulation of reproductive health and safe maternity services.
The bill, when assented to, will give women access to effective reproductive health and adequate maternity services.
Speaker Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, who announced the passage of the bill at plenary yesterday, directed that a copy of the bill be transmitted to Governor Tanko Al-makura for his assent.
“The bill will promote women’s health and safe motherhood and will also ensure access to quality and comprehensive provision on family planning service.
To achieve substantial reduction in maternity morbidity and mortality and the bill will also set out rights and duties of reproductive
health and maternity services providers, health establishments and users”, he said.
