The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Nasarawa State Chapter is seeking a strong partnership with the newly appointed Permanent Secretary of the state Ministry of Youths and Sports Development, Barrister Isaac Danladi, for the actualisation of the goals and aspirations of the Ministry and the association.

Speaking during a courtesy call, the Chairman of the Association, Comrade Isa Mohammed, said they were at the Ministry to celebrate the elevation of Danladi, his posting to the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development and to reiterate their support for him.

Isa said the competence and capabilities of the new Permanent Secretary to deliver on his task are never in doubt as he maintained that Danladi had proven over the years that he has a vast knowledge of sports and youths.

He also praised Governor Abdullahi Sule for fixing a square peg in a square hole, adding that the step would trigger the needed transformation in the Youth and Sports sector in the state.

Furthermore, he sought the support of the Ministry for members of the association to attend the July 2023 SWAN National Triennial Elective Congress in Rivers State where one of her members and Public Relations Officer at the Ministry, Eche Amos, is contesting for the post of the National Deputy Secretary-General.

Responding, the new Permanent Secretary, Danladi, appreciated the sports writers for the visit.

He revealed that he was impressed with the professional disposition of members of the association who have continued to deploy professionalism in carrying out their duties.

Danladi described members of SWAN as partners in progress and promised to critically look into their requests to strengthen the bond.

The astute sports administrator also admonished members of SWAN to eschew negative journalism but abide by the ethics of the profession as he said no society can survive in an atmosphere of negative and fabricated reports.
