Isa, therefore, beseeched the Permanent Secretary to use the instrument of his office to improve on the Ministry’s support to the association to enable it discharge its duties effectively and professionally.

Furthermore, he sought the support of the Ministry for members of the association to attend the July 2023 SWAN National Triennial Elective Congress in Rivers State where one of her members and Public Relations Officer at the Ministry, Eche Amos, is contesting for the post of the National Deputy Secretary-General.

Responding, the new Permanent Secretary, Danladi, appreciated the sports writers for the visit.

He revealed that he was impressed with the professional disposition of members of the association who have continued to deploy professionalism in carrying out their duties.

Danladi described members of SWAN as partners in progress and promised to critically look into their requests to strengthen the bond.

The astute sports administrator also admonished members of SWAN to eschew negative journalism but abide by the ethics of the profession as he said no society can survive in an atmosphere of negative and fabricated reports.
