The Nasarawa State Independent Electoral Commission (NASEIC) says it has earmarked N600m in the 2021 budget proposal for the conduct of the state local government election slated for February 27, 2021.
Barrister Ayuba Usman Wandai, chairman of the commission, made this known when he appeared before the Nasarawa State House of Assembly Committee on NASIEC, Multilateral Cooperation and Community Development to defend the electoral body’s 2021 budget proposal.

He said the commission was working towards ensuring successful conduct of the local government poll in the state.
“We have proposed N600m for the conduct of the local government election which by God’s grace will hold on February 27, 2021. We are still within the law to conduct the local government poll in the state,” he said.
Earlier, Mohammed Okpoku, chairman of the committee, urged the management of the commission to continue to be up and doing in discharging its activities.
He assured it of the continued support of the parliament to enable it to succeed in the conduct of the LG poll.
