The Chairman of Toto LGA of Nasarawa State, Alhaji Aliyu Abdullahi Tashas, has condoled with the family of a vigilante, Aminu Adamu, who was shot dead at a checkpoint while observing magrib prayers at Tashar-Fulani near Ukya village on the Toto-Abaji road.
Mr Tashas, represented by his Vice, Abubakar Haruna Kwanaki, who led a delegation to the deceased vigilante’s family house on Tuesday, prayed for the peaceful repose of the soul of the deceased.
He condemned the attack on the vigilantes, who he said had been synergising with other security operatives to tackle kidnapping, banditry and other crimes in the area.
He said his administration was always supportive of the vigilantes, even as he assured that the council would not rest on its oars towards ensuring those behind the incessant attacks were brought to book.

He further said, “It is obvious that some enemies of the local government are behind the incessant attacks and killings going on across some villages. We shall not rest on our oars to ensure that such people are brought to book.”
Recall that City & Crime reported that gunmen opened fire on some vigilantes last Thursday, killing one of them and injuring another while they were observing magrib prayers in the area.
